My Blind Spot is pleased to be partnering with a new organization, the New York Disability Vote Network (NYDVN). Here’s some organizational information from Jessica Thurber of NYDVN:

Thanks to a grant from ACCESS-VR, the New York Disability Vote Network (NYDVN) was established by the Center for Disability Rights in the summer of 2013. The nonpartisan statewide voting initiative is geared towards people with disabilities in the state of New York. There are four parts that make up the NYDVN:

  • The steering committee
  • Partner organizations
  • Voters with disabilities
  • Volunteers

Together, we work to build, solidify, and unify a large disability voting bloc in New York. We do this by growing and maintaining a database of voters with disabilities and informing them of important voting information via email and social media. We also connect with dedicated, like-minded organizations and share resources. If you are a New York State voter with disabilities or an organization interested in partnering, please consider joining the NYDVN today!
