AbleRoad has officially launched! AbleRoad is a website and mobile app for finding and rating accessible places – restaurants, shops, hotels, medical practices and many other venues. It’s a perfect mobile service for people with disabilities, medical conditions and their friends, family members, and caregivers.
The site and mobile app are free to access, and let users sort and create accessible places based on sight, mobility, hearing, and cognitive criteria. Blind/vision-impaired users can submit ratings that address the following issues:
- Public Transportation
- Website Accessibility
- Braille Information
- Large Print
- Phone Information
- Sufficient Lighting
- Vision Signage
- Staff Assistance
- Announcements
- Audio/Video
- Aisles/Navigation
- Guide Dog/Service Animal
In addition, both the ableroad.com website and the AbleRoad app for the iPhone and iPad have been designed for use by blind and low-vision users, and are constantly being updated to make it easy and intuitive for all users.
You can access AbleRoad by visiting AbleRoad.com or by using the iPhone and iPad apps, available from the Apple App Store. An Android App will be released sometime next month.
