In March 2014, the Department of Justice entered a consent decree with national tax preparer H&R Block requiring accessibility of the company’s websites and mobile apps under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The decree followed a complaint alleging that H&R Block failed to code its website in a manner that would make it accessible to individuals with vision, hearing, and physical disabilities.
